Tenths is an encrypted time keeping app. All sensitive information is encrypted, end-to-end, on your device. If you have multiple devices allowed on your account, encryption happens one of two ways.
iCloud handles encryption key backups
The first way is if you have backed up your encryption keys to iCloud. If your keys are backed up to iCloud, each device will create a private key from this backup. There will be no user required action on your part. If your device is stolen or lost, iCloud will be able to recreate your last backed up state when you restore from an iCloud backup.
You handle encryption key backups
The second way is if you manage your key backups through 'seed phrases' located in the Account Pane. If you chose this route, you are solely responsible for backing up encryption key phrases and keeping them safe. If at any point you lose your device or it is destroyed (aka water damage), you must have a backup of both your data and the seed phrase to unlock your time entries.

To use Tenths, no personal information is necessary. Any subscription, if applicable, is managed through Apple's AppStore. No data is required to be collected by Tenths.
If your settings permit, we may generate a Unique Identifier (UUID) for your device. We use this UUID solely for basic functionality testing. Through the UUID, we track events such as "Created a Time Sheet," which helps us understand how the app’s features are being utilized, without collecting any personal input data.
You can opt out from basic functionality testing at any time by adjusting the settings within the app. We believe in giving you control over your information. If at any point you have trouble finding the setting or disabling this setting, please reach out to us at [email protected]
We do not collect data related to specific inputs you provide to the app. This means we do not record or transmit any details of time added, edited, exported, or reported; nor do we collect any information that could identify your firm or clients.
Our app utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities powered by OpenAI through the OpenAI API. This AI processes your commands to improve your experience. Additionally, OpenAI does not store your requests or use them for training purposes. OpenAI acts solely as a data processor and does not keep any original records of the requests made. This is due to an additional processing agreement we have with OpenAI, termed 'Zero Data Retention.'
From the above under How does OpenAI handle data retention and monitoring for API usage?. Mela Roo Inc. has secured ZDR for your ACP needs: "OpenAI may securely retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days to provide the services and to identify abuse. After 30 days, API inputs and outputs are removed from our systems, unless we are legally required to retain them. You can also request zero data retention (ZDR) for eligible endpoints if you have a qualifying use-case. For details on data handling, visit our Platform Docs page."
For the AI to function, we do not collect or store personal data. We route commands to achieve your intended outcome, execute the requested action, and keep anonymized number of tokens used to ensure we are within the allowed rate limits and usage of the OpenAI API. Should we encounter situations such as a DDoS attack or unusually high usage, we may need to temporarily halt access to specific IP ranges and/or accounts to ensure service integrity.
If you reach out to us for support through email, text, or call, we will store your contact information securely for the duration of our correspondence. We use your information only to provide the support you requested and for future communications relevant to that support.
We do not use this contact information to enroll you in any marketing or promotional campaigns, nor do we share your details for any such communications. It is exclusively used for the purpose of providing support and assistance. Upon request, we will delete your contact information from our system immediately, otherwise we will delete your contact information after a period of inactivity.

We use Cloudflare as our DNS provider and static website provider through Cloudflare Pages. We coded the site in Imba (a friendly js framework found here imba.io) with javascript helpers. We also use Plausible Analytics at Plausible.io. This site will capture minimal statictics about your use, mostly to measure how many visits we obtain, how much time you end up spending here, and if those vists go on to the AppStore. We may use this data to aid in company planning, feature requests, and protection of the services from abuse and improper use.
